FacePAD: Facebook Photo Album Downloader (New Extension!)
August 10, 2008 – 1:37 pmHeya Everyone,
It’s finally time to release a new extension, and this one is as simple, intuitive, and necessary as Email This!
FacePAD, better known as the Facebook Photo Album Downloader will allow you to download your friends’ facebook albums en masse with the click of a button.
To download photos from an album, right-click (with your mouse) on the name/link of a facebook album and click the Download Album with FacePAD option. If you did this properly, a Javascript Popup will appear telling you to wait a moment while it initiates the download process. Press OK and the photos will be downloaded to Firefox’s default download directory.
Note
1. FacePAD is compatible with Firefox 2.0+, & 3.0+, and Flock.
2. This extension was originally developed by Nic Holliday. I took the liberty of updating this extension for Firefox 3 since he didn’t. I also cleaned up the source code and plan on adding better download management capabilities in the near future.
Download
Download from Lazyrussian - Version 0.5
Download from Mozilla - Version 0.5 (This add-on is still in the “Sand-Box”)
Since the add-on is still in Mozilla’s sandbox, you’ll have to login/register an account with Mozilla (free). It should be up within 24 hours for public (non-registered-user) download.
Enjoy!

I don’t know coding at all. I am looking for a similar webshots solution. I tinkered with the facepad.js “.facebook\.com etc” changed to “.webshots\.com\ etc” from the overlay.js in “webshots_photo_album_downloader-0.1-fx.xpi” (Same author?)
Of course I saw that Webshots has a different structure to it but I updated the archive and installed and at lease I can see the “Download Facebook Album” on a Webshots album.
How difficult is the tweaking for webshots?

Is this a known problem ? When I right click on the name of the album, the pop-up tells me that it will download 20 photos instead of the 60 that are present in the album ?

JF is right! I can download only 20 photos, instead an album has 60 photos. Please fix the bug and improve it. FacePAD is a great tool!
Thanks you for support.
